Jan currently resides in the Pittsburgh area and grew up in a small western Pennsylvania town where she was raised on small-town values, helping neighbors and developed a real sense of community. Jan received her formal education attending Penn State’s main campus in State College, Pennsylvania where she graduated with honors in the Accounting Honors Program. She also received her CPA and has a Master of Arts in Personnel Administration/Industrial Relations. Her current licenses are Series 6, 7, 26, 63, 65, and Life, Accident and Health.
Jan’s passion for numbers led her first to auditing with a Big Eight Accounting Firm then on to a Chief Financial Officer in Healthcare. However, Jan says she found her true calling with the right mix of accounting, finance, and client interaction that led her to the world of financial services. As an investment advisor for over 20 years, Jan joined the Orion Financial close-knit team to provide her own style of expert assessments and detailed roadmaps for the client including current and future needs through retirement.
Jan has a friendly demeanor and a wonderful ability to actively engage with her clients bringing simplicity to what can be an overwhelming and complex financial discussion. Her clients are often complimentary about Jan’s skills in laying out each step of the plan in detail and how they feel not only better, but confident after working with her. As an example, Jan recently had a client who after 40 years was retiring from her job, state, “Jan, you have made this important time in my life less stressful and much easier.”
When not working with clients and the Orion Financial team, to achieve our client’s financial and retirement goals, Jan loves to travel and spend time with family and friends. She is a dog rescue advocate and currently has 2 rescues, Tank and Lady.
